January 2007
So here we all are… once again on the brink of new thresholds, having collectively ushered in a new year under
the Gregorian calendar system. Although many of us really tie our new years to
other significant dates and times – such as either the Spring or Winter Solstice or the anniversary of our birth, there
is still quite a collective thought form that exists out there telling us that this time marks another beginning – a
force of focus to reflect on our past and to make resolutions for the time ahead.
However, in many ways this time that we are ushering in, is really a time of completion that predicates the new beginnings.
January 18, 2007 - New Moon in Capricorn (28 degrees) 8:02 PM PST, 11:02 PM EST
Tonight’s new Moon
hails under the watchful sign of Capricorn in the late degrees for a mature and wise influence – it’s a time when
the ancestors are very near. In alignment with our perspective and “place”
here on this great mother Earth, Capricorn is also associated with the North and the Winter Solstice – so we truly are
in the deep of winter with our planetary influences, weather, emotions and our personal resources. Capricorn Moons bring a constructive time with emphasis on being grounded, present and abiding by the structures,
disciplines and routines that sustain us – and are also a good time for fulfilling commitments.
This happens to be the fifth
New Moon in a row in the late degrees near the end of its sign, really emphasizing the completion energy in each respective
realm, reminding us to finish up with our old “stuff” in order to make way for the new energies and opportunities. Saturn (the planetary ruler of the sign Capricorn) influences often feel mundane and
restricting, but its gift of focus ultimately brings us to that place where we will do what is necessary to create movement. It seemingly has the effect of slowing things down enough, allowing us to understand
where we waste or lose our resources, energy and power – thereby providing an opportunity to appreciate what we do have
and what works for us, so that ultimately we are empowered to make choices from our place of wisdom.
It is a prime time to be
still, reflective and empty oneself out (of ego and superficial judgment) to be the hollow bone. When embraced, these are the energies (Capricorn/Saturn) that allow us to manifest our dreams and desires.
With all that said, it is
important to note that those unsettling feelings that some sense “floating around out there” may originate from
the unique alignment of so many planets in the sign of Aquarius – Venus, Neptune, Mercury, the Sun and Chiron…
and by tomorrow, the Moon will actually have moved into Aquarius as well. This
Uranian influence is powerful, electric in nature and has the ability to changes things very quickly – like a lightning
bolt! The individual nature of each of these planets will also express themselves
in the revolutionary, individualistic and idealistic, humanitarian and global mind realm of Aquarius (ruled by the planet
Uranus). In turn, Uranus is floating in the watery, compassionate and spiritual
realm of Pisces, and will be exactly squared by the expansive planet Jupiter in the catalytic, spirit and truth-seeking sign
of Sagittarius. Saturn in the sign of Leo, the realm of the creator and our connection
to our true divinity, is sitting by itself directly opposite these celestially Aquarian influenced planets and drawing their
energy down from the heavens so that we can make manifest our highest dreams and visions here on earth.
All put together, this heralds
a potential for great change! Open yourself up to inspiration, let go of what
no longer serves you and breathe in your highest potential, that we all may benefit and our descendents may benefit, as we
are all ONE.
Infinite and Powerful Blessings
